“Cooking beautiful food for people has always been at the heart of our lives.”
Farow at Home grew from a love of feeding people well — with food that feels seasonal, thoughtful, and rooted in place. We believe a meal isn’t just about what’s on the plate. It’s about conversation, connection, and the quiet joy of gathering around a table with people you love.
Today, we create intimate, in-home private dining experiences across the Kentucky Bluegrass — so you can host a beautiful evening without stress, overwhelm, or spending the night in the kitchen.
Meet the team behind the table
Lisa Balcom and Patrick Balcom are chefs, partners, and the creative force behind Farow at Home. Their work sits at the intersection of fine-dining craft, seasonal cooking, and a deep respect for the people and land that produce great food.
Lisa trained in pastry and wine, building a career around flavor, texture, and the quiet details that make food memorable. As a sommelier and longtime chef, she brings a rare blend of technical precision and emotional storytelling to the table — whether she’s composing a dessert, pairing a wine, or teaching home cooks how to see ingredients differently.
Patrick is a chef through and through: rooted in scratch cooking, thoughtful technique, and an instinctive understanding of how ingredients want to be treated. His food is confident without being loud — grounded, generous, and deeply satisfying.
Together, they’ve spent years cooking professionally, running restaurants, building menus, baking, preserving, fermenting, and working directly with farmers and producers who care about how food is grown. That experience shaped not just how they cook, but how they see food as a system — one that connects soil, flavor, health, and community.
Their style blends the discipline of fine dining with the soul of home cooking. They believe the best meals don’t need to perform; they need to feel good. Every menu is built with intention — honoring what’s in season, respecting the ingredient, and creating a sense of ease and generosity at the table. The result is food that feels both elevated and deeply comforting, designed to make people feel relaxed, nourished, and genuinely cared for.
Farow at Home is their way of bringing that philosophy beyond the restaurant — into homes, private tables, and everyday kitchens — helping people reconnect with the pleasure, beauty, and quiet power of real food.
Our job is to help you create a night your guests will remember
You welcome people into your home.
We take care of them at the table.
Together, we make the night special.
Hosting can feel overwhelming — menu planning, sourcing, prep, timing, plating, and cleanup all compete for your attention when you should be enjoying your own table. We take all of that off your plate so you can actually be present with the people you invited.
Our process starts with a thoughtful discovery call. We don’t just ask what you like to eat — we listen for who will be in the room, how you want them to feel, and what kind of experience you’re hoping to create. We take into account dietary needs, allergies, preferences, and the rhythm of your evening, then design a seasonal menu that reflects both the ingredients at their peak and the energy you want the night to hold — whether that’s relaxed and intimate, celebratory and abundant, or quietly elegant.
From there, we handle everything: sourcing exceptional ingredients, preparing and cooking on-site, pacing each course, and leaving your kitchen just as we found it. The result is an experience that feels effortless on your side, but deeply intentional on ours — so you can host with ease, stay connected to your guests, and enjoy the kind of evening that lingers long after the last plate is cleared.
Food tastes better when it’s grown with care
We take pride in sourcing from small farms and ranchers who prioritize soil health, regenerative practices, and animal welfare. Many of the producers we partner with aren’t necessarily certified organic — not because they don’t meet the standard, but because certification is often out of reach for smaller operations. Their growing practices are holistic, pesticide- and herbicide-free, and focused on building living soil.
We also work only with ranchers who raise grass-fed or pasture-raised animals. When animals graze naturally and live well, the food is more ethical — and more flavorful.
For us, quality and integrity matter deeply — because the way food is grown shows up on the plate.
We’d be honored to cook for you.
Whether you’re celebrating something special or simply gathering people you love around the table, we’d be grateful to be part of your evening.
